Confused about website design Datrim Web Design Ltd is based in Witney, Oxfordshire. The company was founded by Chris Pritchard, who after many years in the computer industry felt that many website design companies were failing to meet the needs of small to medium-sized businesses. Many small business owners reported that they were often baffled by the technical jargon they received from computer industry professionals.

The Datrim team is a small, talented group professionals who share a passion for good website design. We offer a jargon-free environment where you can discuss your website needs with us. We will explain the process of creating a website in everday language that you will understand fully, regardless of your Internet experience or computer knowledge.

What we do

Building a website We build stylish, effective websites for small and medium-sized businesses. Our sites are designed to draw the viewer's attention to your company, its products and services. A website should be a vehicle for delivering information, not a gaudy billboard littered with flashing pictures and scrolling banners.

By working efficiently, we keep our prices as low as possible. We will never try to talk you into purchasing more web pages that you need. If we think that all you need is a simple 3 or 4 page site, that is what we will recommend. You can always upgrade later as your business grows.

Once your site is up and running, we offer ongoing support whenever you need it. We will perform updates as frequently as you require. There are some exceptions, but we will explain any restrictions, if applicable.

How we work

The first meeting.

This consists of a no-obligation, free consultation where we discuss your needs and collect as much information about the type of website you require. This can be done either by phone or in person. After listening to you, we will advise on the best way to proceed.

The quotation

We will then send you a detailed quotation describing what you will receive from us and how much it will cost. If you agree we will send a contract to be signed and returned along with a deposit before work can commence.

The process

Based on your requirements, we will put together a design for you to look at and comment on. Once you have approved the design, we will create your website. This will be on a temporary server where we can tweak it until you are happy with it. Unless otherwise agreed upon, you will provide the written content and images needed.

The website

Once the site is ready to go, you will pay the balance owing and we will publish the site to your server. We will also setup any email accounts required, register your site with the search engines, setup tools to generate visitor statistics, and ensure that the site displays correctly in all of the major browsers.

Where do we go from here?

Of course, it doesn't end there. When your site needs an update, just contact us and we will take care of it.

FAQs

Most websites are completed within 1 month. This time will vary depending upon factors such as the number of pages required; how quickly you supply us with necessary images and content; and how long it takes to get the design finalised.

We will usually setup email addresses for you and each member of your staff. Additional email addresses may incur an additional cost but this will depend upon the size of the project.

It is usually not necessary to meet face to face, but this can be arranged if you are located reasonably close to us. Most of the time the initial meeting can be done by phone and is often more productive as there are no distractions.

The first 12 month's web hosting is included with all new websites. After that you are free to move your site to the hosting company of your choice. If you are comfortable doing this yourself there is no charge. Alternatively, we will move the site and set it up on your new server for a small charge. It is your responsibility to make sure that your new web hosting has the required software support. We will advise you of the hosting requirements on request.

We explain all of the costs involved at the outset and there will be no unpleasant surprises later. We supply you with a written quote. If you accept this quote, we will then send an agreement itemising the work to be done and the associated costs. This agreement will need to be signed by both yourself and us before work can commence.

Yes. We build all new sites using a 'responsive design'. Quite simply this means that the site will display correctly for all devices based on the screen width. For instance, a 3-column site will display normally on a desktop computer, but on a mobile phone, the columns will appear one under the other.

Once you have paid the total cost the website is owned 100% by you. We will supply you with the website source files so that you will be able to use another web designer if you wish.

Yes, we can supply copywriting if required. A member of our copywriting team will speak with you to determine your requirements and we will then give you a quote for the work. All copy written by us will be optimised to be SEO friendly by using carefully selected keywords.

Yes, we usually collect payment in 3 installments: 1/3 before we start work, 1/3 when the design is agreed upon and the remaining 1/3 when the site is ready to be published.
